You haven’t been to Italy if you haven’t tried Italian coffee, and you haven’t been to Milan if you haven’t tried coffee at Tailor and Coffee. After walking around in Milan we wanted to sit down for a coffee. There are cafés of course on every corner. And with every corner, I mean each one.
We were strolling through narrow side streets looking for a quiet spot to have a cappuccino. And then we saw it – Tailor and Coffee. The name and the look of the windows caught our attention and we decided to sit down.
Tailor and Coffee is no ordinary café or bar. As you enter the café you immediately notice the sewing machine and different kinds of fabrics and patterns, which gives this place a special vibe. As the name says, it is a tailor shop as well as a café. This concept was new to me.
The owner, Gianni Marigliano, greeted us at the door giving us a royal treatment from the very beginning. What we didn’t know at that point, Gianni is actually a well-known tailor and has created suits for many famous names from the world of football. But he in not only a great tailor, he is also one of the nicest and most charming people I’ve ever met.
The owner of the Tailor and Coffee and his staff spoil you not only with great coffee and really fine treats, but also with a real sincerity. Gianni is so nice and very warm, makes you feel very comfortable and “at home”.
The cappuccino is without question the best I’ve ever had. To get a perfect cappuccino, you have to have 3 things – great coffee beans, very good coffee machine and a qualified barista. Tailor and coffee has all three of those.
I would recommend this café to anyone who wants to escape Milan’s hectic and treat themselves to something really good. You can sit there forever.
